SHARING CIRCLE
(FORMERLY-SPIRITUAL SUPPORT GROUP):
When: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month 7:30 – 8:30 P.M.
Where: Facebook Messenger Rooms
Contact: Tim Spooner
Are you struggling somewhere in your life and need someone to lean on? Are amazing things happening in your life and you would like to share with others? Are you looking for something that is a bit non-traditional that still embraces your personal spiritual beliefs? Then this group may be for you. Please come and see what it is all about and explore your spiritual path. ALL faiths and traditions are welcome.
We are a community of LGBTQ people and allies who provide one another spiritual support. We respect and value one another’s diverse traditions and perspectives. We are unified by our shared value for spiritual life and our resolve to encourage and bless one another.
TRANS SPECTRUM SOCIAL HOUR:
When: Second and Fourth Saturday of the Month 2:00 P.M.
Where: Second Saturday in person – Fourth Saturday Zoom
Contact: Tabatha Cain
The first-ever meeting of the BC Pride Trans Spectrum Social Hour will be held in person at First Congregational Church on Saturday, June 12th at 2 p.m. The new group replaces the previous Trans Support Group, and is open to adults, as well as young adults age 13 and over (and parents), who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming.
BC Pride Administrative Assistant Tabatha Cain and her son Sam will serve as co-facilitators of the group. Tabatha explained how the mom-son duo will handle each meeting.
“There are probably just as many trans kids as there are trans adults in our area, and we want to support everyone,” Tabatha said. “So Sam and I are going to be co-facilitators of the group. Sam can relate to our younger audience and talk to them on their level, and I’ll direct the conversation with our adult members.”
“We make a pretty good tag-team,” Sam added.
Unlike the previous Trans Support Group that met once per month, the Trans Spectrum Social Hour will meet bi-monthly.
“We know that some people just can’t physically attend meetings,” Tabatha explained. “So on the second Saturday of each month, we’ll meet in person, and on the fourth Saturday, we’ll all meet virtually on Zoom. That way, we hope to include everyone who wants to participate.”
Although it’s being called a “social hour”, the group will still deal with any gender issues that members may have. Those interested in attending the first meeting are encouraged to contact Tabatha or Sam so they know how many attendees to plan for. They can be reached at tabathacain@battlecreekpride.
DINING OUT:
When: 1st Tuesday of the Month 6:00 P.M.
Where: See Events Page for Monthly Locations
Contact: Jim or Roger at 269-962-9503
Each month we meet at a local restaurant to enjoy a great meal and great conversation. This is a fun way to cultivate new and existing friendships while trying out different restaurants around town. There’s always a seat waiting for you at our table, so come join us!
Check our online calendar on the right to find out where the venue is each month or check out our Facebook page for a monthly posting.
“CONSTELLATIONS” LGBTQ+ YOUTH GROUP
When: Sundays each month 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
Where:
Contact: Kim Langridge
At “Constellations”, we think each of us who attends is a star – a bright, shining, individual point of light. And we’re all brought together by our own invisible forces – our need to share, to care, and to be with each other. Constellations is just a bunch of LGBTQ+ kids looking to find our place in the universe.
Sometimes we visit fun places like Full Blast, or bowling alleys, or museums. Other times, we do things together like make goofy crafts or play fun board games. And sometimes we just hang out and talk. And snack. And laugh. And learn. And make friends. Here is the list of our planned outings and events for the next few months.
This is a place where we can be safe, be happy, and be ourselves. If you’re in middle school or high school (or a parent) and you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you. Just let us know you’re coming by sending us an email, or just stop in and we’ll look for you.
