“CONSTELLATIONS” LGBTQ+ YOUTH GROUP
When: 3rd Saturday of each month 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
Where: Battle Creek Pride Resource Center, 145 Capital Ave. NE
At “Constellations”, we think each of us who attends is a star – a bright, shining, individual point of light. And we’re all brought together by our own invisible forces – our need to share, to care, and to be with each other. Constellations is just a bunch of LGBTQ+ kids looking to find our place in the universe.
Sometimes we visit fun places like Full Blast, or bowling alleys, or museums. Other times, we do things together like make goofy crafts or play fun board games. And sometimes we just hang out and talk. And snack. And laugh. And learn. And make friends. Here is the list of our planned outings and events for the next few months.
MARCH – Get ready to have a ball – literally. It’s a fun day of bowling, snacks, and ugly rented shoes as we travel to Bowlero Lanes for bowling and pizza. Because at Constellations, that’s just how we roll. The cost of shoe rental and two bowling games will be covered by BC Pride for each student who participates!
APRIL – Feeling crafty? Good. Because we’re planning a day of sparkles, spangles, baubles, and bangles during a visit to “Just Bead It” in Marshall. With a little help from an expert, you’ll get to create a cool, one-of-a-kind ring, bracelet, necklace, earrings or some other piece of jewelry. Each student will receive $15 towards their bead creations courtesy of BC Pride!
MAY – Natural History… Space…Earth Science… World Cultures… and “Constellations”! We’ll see it all in a trip back in time to Kingman Museum. BC Pride will pay admission for each student who joins us!
This is a place where we can be safe, be happy, and be ourselves. If you’re in middle school or high school (or a parent) and you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you. Just let us know you’re coming by sending us an email, or just stop in and we’ll look for you.
